The Pride of Working with Five Olympic Figure Skaters

Whether it’s the triple axels or the grueling hours on the ice, Olympic-level figure skating is as much a feat of endurance as it is an art form. But what happens behind the scenes to keep these athletes soaring?

For elite skaters, massage isn't a luxury—it’s a recovery prerequisite. It has been my most extreme pleasure to work directly national and world champions, such as Alisa Elimova and five Olympic team members, including Maxim Naumov.  The repetitive impact of jumps and the constant "closed-chain" tension in the hips and ankles can lead to significant muscle tightness and restricted joint mobility. At In Touch Well-Being, we focus on restoring that "flow." By utilizing sports massage, we help amateur and professional athletes reduce muscle tension and enhance mobility, which leads to maximal performance.

Research published in Sports Medicine highlights that sports massage can increase range of joint motion and decrease muscle stiffness—critical for the impacts and leaps required in competitive skating.
